TV Career
Gavin is best known the world over for his ten years as "Capt. Merrill Stubing" on The Love Boat and as the quick-witted "Murray Slaughter" on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. His TV successes include classic hits such as: The Dick Van Dyke Show, Hogan's Heroes, Perry Mason, Murder She Wrote, and "Big Chicken" on Hawaii Five-O. Gavin MacLeod was the voice of "Captain Gumble" in Pound Puppies, with Betty White and has made multiple guest appearances on shows including the King of Queens, the HBO Series OZ, Jag and That 70's Show.

Acting has brought Gavin many fond memories and great stories to share about playing characters from priests to the wacky "Maxwell" in this episode of The Dick Van Dyke Show. Gavin portrays the sales man, Maxwell Cooley trying to sell an anniversary gift to Rob for his wife.
